We all want that curl that would make our hair bob and bounce as we walk, but we've gotten tired of the heat that comes with the curling irons and curling wands and hot rollers, right?
It may come as a surprise to a lot of you that the curling iron actually does more damage than good to your hair. Exposing your hair continuously and consistently to heat from the curling irons, wands or hot rollers exposes your hair to breakage, give it extreme damages, increase of dryness and sucking off the moisturizing nutrients that are meant to protect your hair from breakages.
It is all so easy to grab that curling want to style your hair into a curve, but do you know that there is another way to cuts your hair without heat? Yep! It's called heatless curls. Same result but a different process.
We'll be sharing with you ways to achieve heatless curls.
Heatless Headband Curls
All this requires is a headband, not pins or clips or rollers. Let's take you through the process.
-
The first thing to do is to make your hair damp, then with the headband placed on your head, divide your hair into two sections.
-
Twist each of the sections away from your face and each of them over and under your headband till your hair has reached its tip.
-
Use the right hairspray to hold the hair in perfect shape and to let your hairstyle form. Leave it till it is completely dry before letting your hair down.
-
To give it a firmer and bold look, you can apply some texturizing pomade.
Done, all that's left is for you to rock it.
Heatless Lazy Curls
This heatless curl is what you go for when you want to achieve quick waves. It can be done with or without hair extensions. Let's hope through the process:
-
Pull your hair all the way up into a ponytail.
-
Spray small sections (1 inch) of your hair with water to make them damp (this makes them easier to curl), wrap the hair sections one after the other to create a curl.
-
Secure the curls by clipping them against your scalp.
-
Give it lots of time, preferably half an hour.
-
Once it is completely dry, remove the clips used to secure the curls and let down your ponytail.
That's all. The end result is a bouncy wavy hair. You can also apply it to your hair extensions using the exact same technique.
Heatless Bouncy Curls
You might have thin hair, but you especially love the curls and the bounce of the full hair. What would you say if we told you that we could let you achieve it? Come along.
-
Just like the heatless lazy curls, start your hair by dividing it into 1-inch sections and spray it till it's damp.
-
Wrap each section of your hair around your middle finger loosely, slide the curls down and use a hairpin to secure it. Make use of only your middle finger to give it a tighter curl.
-
Repeat throughout with each section of your hair.
-
Give it a finishing touch with some hairspray.
-
Leave it to dry, then reveal your hair. Voila! You've got bouncy curls to flaunt.
Heatless Waves
A classic, effortless curl to pull off to get imperfect waves. Combining the use of hair clips, hair wax, and hair sprays, this curls put the curling wands to shame.
-
Starting from your hair roots, divide your hair into small sections, add water as you go to dampen it. Wrap each section around your middle and index finger, this is similar to the heatless bouncy curls except that it uses both the middle and the index finger.
-
Repeat this process throughout your head, securing each curl by pinning it down with hair clips.
-
Use the hair spray to give the hair finishing touches.
-
Leave it to dry completely, possibly 30 - 40 minutes. This is due to the different thickness and length of hairs.
-
Take down the clips and apply the warm hair wax to your curls in a scrunching manner.
You're free to rock this heatless waves.
