  • Step 1: The first step is to prepare the hair for the style, you will need to add texture to your hair by first spraying with a texturizing spray, then you curl your tresses with a 1¼ inch curling iron or wand.
  • Step 2: Choose a preferred hair part; side, center or deep side part, then grab 2 - 3 inches of hair at the section that is closest to the part. Split the grabbed section again into two chunks of hair and twist the pieces on top and over each other.
  • Step 3: This step is where you add extra hair to your twists. Working on the side of your head, pick up a new section of your hair just below the first section and work it into it. Then, twist the two pieces together. Continue repeating this process until you reach the end of the hair section. Make sure that you add more hair as you go to each twist. Twist the ends of the section and secure it with an elastic once you've reached the back of your head.
  • Step 4: Move the twisted section over to the other side of your hair and use bobby pins to secure it.
  • Step 5: Repeat the twisting on the other side of your hair and secure it with bobby pins as you did the first twist.
  • Step 6: To give the twist more texture loosen it up a little by massaging the hair out of your twist. This gives you a Bohemian vibe.
  • Step 7: Finish the look by using a medium hold hairspray to secure the style and keep it from losing firmness.

Gorgeous Flat-twist Updo Hairstyle

The steps below will help you achieve this gorgeous and flat. Flat-twist Updo Hairstyle

  • Step 1: Use a rat tail comb to section off a 4-inch triangle of hair near the front of your hairline and clip it or use an elastic to keep the section out of the way.
  • Step 2: Divide the rest of the hair into a middle part. Clip out a section out of the way and split the other section in half. Then horizontally, create a V-shaped part through the middle of the hair. Clip the top section up and then brush the edge-control gel into and through the bottom section.
  • Step 3: From below your right ear, start stitch-braiding a tiny section of hair along the V-shaped until you braid up the middle to the center of your head. Use a clip to hold the unfinished braid to the side.
  • Step 4: Create another stitch braid above the first one to follow the curved pattern. Then, braid over and up until you've reached the center of your head.
  • Step 5: Continue the stitch-braiding till you've created four braids that all swoop towards your middle part.
  • Step 6: Once you've gotten to the temple of your hair go in the opposite direction and create one curved stitch braid with its tail ends up towards your forehead, instead of the middle of your head.
  • Step 7: Create two more braids in the reverse order and leave the ends in a big poof above your forehead. The big poof will later be turned into a retro curl to make a perfect style. The right side of your hair is finished in that manner.
  • Step 8: Repeat the previous steps on the left side of your head. This will make the center of your hair have a Mohawk of loose hair.
  • Step 9: Create there two strand twists out of the thin slice of hair from the front of your hair. Braid to the ends of your hair and attach extra extensions as you go.
  • Step 10: Twist the rest of your hair in a two strands twist down the center of the left loose and twist the sections towards your forehead.
  • Step 11: Flip your head over and braid all the twists together down the center of your head, and create a faux-hawk of braided twists.
  • Step 12: Gather one big braid and coil it up over one side of your forehead, then pin it in place.
