Which hair extensions last longest?

If you’re the type of girl who wants to have the long-lasting style that hair extensions can offer, it can be difficult to know what your best option is. There are two ways of looking at which hair extension lasts the longest: how long you can keep the extension in your hair, and how long the extensions will be in good shape before needing to be replaced.

Generally speaking, bonded hair extensions will last the longest in place, since they are bonded to your strands of hair. You can expect to have these extensions in place for 3-6 months, depending on how fast your hair grows. Sew-in extensions can last for up to 8 weeks, tape-ins for four to eight weeks, and clip-ins and halo can be removed and replaced each day.

Because we use the highest quality human hair for all of our hair extension types, each type can be used for up to a year, and in many cases much longer, as long as the hair is cared for appropriately. This means that you’ll want to wash your extensions gently with a sulfate-free shampoo and a light conditioner. Don’t wash too often – once or twice a week is sufficient, and make sure to dry the roots completely if you are using bonded extensions.  Take time to brush out your extensions each day, and tie your hair up in a braid before bed to keep your extensions from tangling or getting frizzy.
