Everything you ever wanted to know about Halo Hair Extensions

Halo hair extensions are a one-piece hair extension that is worn in the hair like a “Wire ”. The extension is connected by a thin, clear nylon wire that goes on top of your head almost like a headband. This nylon wire is nearly undetectable so no one will know you’re wearing extensions. Wire extensions are available in many colors and lengths to match almost every shade of hair. They are superior to other hair extensions due to the quick and easy installation and the fact that they are damage free.

Wire hair extensions are so easy to put on that even a first-time user should have no trouble at all. Unlike other extension methods, you don't need to go to a salon for pricey visits to install and maintain your hair extensions. These extensions can be put in in a matter of minutes and the only tool you need is a rattail comb. Until Wire extensions came along, clip-in extensions were thought to be the easiest method.

How to Install your Halo Hair Extension

You always want to start off with dry and detangled hair. Be sure to detangle the hair extension as well. To install your Wire extension, simply take the extension and put it on your hair with the nylon wire at the top of your head (think of it as a headband). The closer the nylon wire is to your hairline, the more secure the extension will feel. Next, take your rattail comb and pull your natural hair over the extension. Work all the way around your head in order to cover the extension. After you have fully covered the Wire extension with your natural hair, proceed to style hair (and the extension) as usual.

What makes Halo hair extensions better than others?

Halo hair extensions are so much better than other extension methods. There is no glue, tape, cylinders, or clips to pull and tug at your hair. In fact, Halo hair extensions do not attach to your hair at all, they lay on top of it using the nylon wire. There is no need to visit a salon to get them to put in, have them taken out, or maintained. You also don’t need to invest in anything else besides the extension, and possibly shampoo and conditioner made for extensions. Since Wire extensions lay on top of your hair and do not attach to it, your hair is able to grow longer and stay healthy. In addition to being damage-free, Wire hair extensions only take a few minutes to install versus clip-ins, which can take 15-30 minutes because of the sectioning, backcombing, and the pieces involved. This is why Wire extensions are perfect for someone who is a first-time user of extensions. They are also perfect for those that don't have time to waste putting in clip-in extensions.

Caring for Halo Hair Extensions

Taking great care of Wire hair extensions is essential so that they last as long as possible. They can last anywhere from 6 months to a year or more with the proper care. When storing your Wire extensions, be sure to detangle them and put them in the box they came in or another box that is similar. There is no set rule when it comes to washing hair extensions, though the less they are washed the better. A good rule of thumb is to wash them when they start to feel dirty or like there is a build-up of product on them. Always be sure to buy shampoo and conditioner free of sulfates and alcohol. These are very drying to hair and will shorten the life of your extensions.

Before washing, be sure to detangle your extensions with a wide-tooth comb or a brush specially made for extensions. These will be the most gentle. Next wash your extensions, without bunching them up, with shampoo. Thoroughly rinse out all shampoo and get the extra moisture out before conditioning. After conditioning, rinse it out and gently pat out excess water with a microfiber towel. Be careful not to rough them up, as this can damage the cuticle of the hair. It is always recommended to let your Wire extensions air dry. Blow Drying adds extra heat which can cut down on the lifespan of the hair. If you absolutely must blow dry your extensions, use a cool heat setting to do so. When your hair extensions are wet, they are in their most delicate state so you must be sure to be extra gentle. Lay them flat to air dry and gently comb extensions once dry.

What to look for when buying Halo Hair Extensions

You should always do your homework before buying Halo hair extensions, or any type of hair extensions for that matter. There are a few things that you should be on the lookout for when buying extensions. First off, you want to be sure that the hair you are buying is of good quality. Although you may need to spend a bit more to get better quality hair, it will last you much longer.

When looking for Halo hair extensions, you will want to buy ones that are made of remy hair. Remy hair is high-quality human hair that can be colored and styled just as your own hair. Because it is manufactured in a way where the cuticle of the hair all runs in the same direction, remy hair will blend in flawlessly with your natural hair. Remy hair extensions is less likely to tangle, shed, or get matted, unlike non-remy hair. A majority of Wire hair extensions on the market are non-remy hair. Although they may be made from human hair, the hair will have a silicone coating over it to mask the fact that the cuticle of the hair does not run in the same direction. Once this silicone coating wears off (sometimes after one or two washes), hair can look dull and lifeless. Remy hair does not have that issue and can withstand washing and still look beautiful and shiny for up to a year with proper care.

As you can see, there are many things that you must learn about and take into consideration when buying Wire hair extensions. They are very easy to use, comfortable to wear, and fairly easy to take care of. Go ahead and take that leap! Get your hands on Wire hair extensions now.
